Skills Development for unemployed black South Africans – accredited teacher training

„Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Nelson Mandela

We believe that to be such a weapon, education has to be rethought. We believe that at its core, education has to be creative, innovative, and inspiring. The aim must be to teach HOW to think, feel and do, not WHAT to think, feel or do. We believe that for the sake of the future of South Africa, young people have to learn how to use their inherent creativity to solve social, economic, and political problems. Through their schooling, they must be enabled to become active, conscious, and responsible citizens of this country and the world.

Change of an education system has to start with the training of teachers; this is why we focus on the self-development of our students. A responsible, conscious and inspired teacher will model their attitude and behavior to their pupils and can thus have an enormous impact on their lives. Alongside the syllabus, we train our students how to incorporate music, movement, and artistic activities into their lessons. These have been proven to support the cognitive understanding as well as the engagement and social interaction of pupils.

We offer accredited Level 4 and 5 Early Childhood Development training, a Bachelor of Education (Foundation Phase Teaching) and a Bachelor of Arts. More than 75% of our students are black South Africans (according to the BEE codes ‘black’ includes African, Coloured, and Indian). As a BEE Level 1 contributor we are in a great position to collaborate with all companies interested in furthering the skills development of unemployed black South Africans.
