Considerable time is given to the development of the arts, focussing on three over-arching aims:
- To learn and improve own ability in the different media
- To develop the student's creativity and imagination in teaching, and
- To facilitate the process of personal transformation in each student
The handskills modules are intended to help the student acquire practical skills:
- To further one's ability to work with the hands
- To gain a positive relationship to the world of work, and
- To lay the foundations for teaching crafts to children
